Sensorberg makes digital key assignment easier and safer with YPTOKEY software

The PropTech Sensorberg that specializes on digitization of Residential and Office buildings  will use the software of a Berlin-based Startup YPTOKEY to make assignment of digital access rights to buildings simpler, more flexible and, above all, safer. YPTOKEY has developed a solution that makes it possible to transfer digital keys through blockchain. With this solution the access information is firmly secured.

"By using Blockchain as a backup mechanism, we enable portfolio owners and tenants to easily and virtually invisibly transfer virtual keys to their properties or certain areas  to third parties," said Michael von Roeder, CEO of Sensorberg. The PropTech equips buildings with Smart Office or Smart Home technology. Tenants of office spaces, for example, can not only enter their premises via their smartphone or tablet, but also book rooms or regulate the temperature. Sensorberg installs the necessary hardware and at the same time also supplies the corresponding software to control these functions via the app.

Blockchain prevents misuse of digital keys

With their smartphones, tenants can control  allocation and limitation of access rights. This is where  YPTOKEY enters the game - the company has developed an application that encrypts virtual keys that need to be handed over with the help of blockchain technology and, thus prevents their misuse.  Furthermore,  with YPTOKEY the access rights no longer have to be handed over to individuals, such as cleaning agents. Instead, they are granted to selected service companies only once. "From the tenant's point of view, that means far less effort. Especially if the access rights of different service providers have to be managed at the same time, "explains Michael von Roeder.

The YPTOKEY technology is integrated directly into the Sensorberg software. Tobias Rasche, co-founder and CEO of YPTOKEY, says: "We see great potential in our cooperation. By combining our solutions, we create an overall product that offers real added value for users. In this respect, Sensorberg and YPTOKEY follow the same philosophy: It is about developing the best product and working together with others in this direction. "The joint solution will be used for the first time as part of a major real estate project by BAUWENS.

About YPTOKEY

The YPTOKEY GmbH  based in Berlin has developed a decentralized digital software solution to distribution of digital keys. Individuals or service providers can gain access to buildings and to private or shared vehicles by using, for example, smartphones, or assign different access rights to third parties. By using Blockchain, the digital keys are encrypted and secured to a high degree. They can only be passed on after a successful identity check. Using of YPTOKEY makes the management of digital access permissions more convenient, flexible and secure.
